Arqade is a question and answer site for passionate videogamers on all platforms. It only takes a minute to sign up. How does one randomly pattern mossy and cracked stone brick among regular smooth stone brick using worldedit?

Is there a script for it or does the "vanilla" worldedit have the capabilities of doing that? I'm trying to create some stronghold-esque ruins and regular smooth stone doesn't have the right atmosphere, but I don't have the time to insert cracked and mossy one by one.

Most places you'd normally enter a single block type in WorldEdit, you can instead enter one of these which will give you a random distribution of blocks instead of just one kind. You can specify which blocks and how often they should show up.

As an example, if you were to select a zone and enter the following command you'd end up with something like the following screenshot:. Note that you cannot specify a probability pattern for the blocks you are going to replace - only for what you will replace them with.

Assuming you already have the stone brick walls laid out, you just want a brush that replaces some of the stone bricks with mossy or cracked stone bricks. Just tweak the probabilities until you get an effect you like. You might want to make certain areas more mossy, or certain areas less mossy and more cracked, so play with it a bit.

The ID from the inventory doesn't work, and you can't use the name of the block. Due to the way Forge works, the ID you see in the inventory isn't actually the ID of the block, but there are a few different ways to set blocks from mods easily.

The simplest way to get the real ID of a block added by a mod is to use WorldEdit's info tool. To use the info tool, do the following:. Sometimes mod blocks have extra data that they require to work. Using the ID isn't good enough in these cases, but there are ways to use the block still.

This feature is called the Clipboard Pattern. While this system is for setting intricate patterns or structures, it also works to set mod blocks containing extra data. Then you can use clipboard in place of block IDs in practically any WorldEdit command. Unlike patterns, masks determine which blocks will be affected by commands, brushes, and so on. Masks applied through different means will stack with each other.

This is because the combined mask will only match blocks which are both stone and dirt! To get a mask which matches the intersection of multiple masks, use a space to separate them. The intersection will match when all of the given masks match. The simplest of masks, the block mask matches one or more blocks or block states.

Just like the single block patternyou can specify either a block type alone, or a block type with any number of states specified. That is, it matches anything not matched by a different mask. Any other mask can follow this. That is - blocks that restrict entities such as players from moving through them. The first type of region mask is region aliases: selselectionwhich will make a copy of your region at the time you run the command and use that as the mask.

The second type of region mask is dregion d for dynamic, also dseldselection which will always stay updated with your current selection. Block categories, or tags can also be used as masks.

A category mask will match any block that is in that category. The noise mask can create random noise.

WorldEdit and FAWE patterns

Universal Conquest Wiki. Block is a non-mob unit structure in Minecraft. Not by just only place-able building material, a block can be identified as flowing water, growing seed, or empty air. Block IDs are basically part of Minecraft ID data along with items, mobs, entities, potions, and external values.

Each block is given an identity of number and is arranged by that numeric sequence. Facing Block IDs contain extra values which determines the facing direction of certain block types. These extra data values are not found in creative inventory. External block IDs are not found in the regular creative inventory but they can still be found in Worldedit search commands. They also can't be obtained by hand.

Blockstates are deeply customized blocks that contain extra pieces of data.
